Casey
A native macOS app that rebuilds Billboard Hot 100 charts from any week in history as Apple Music playlists. Named for Casey Kasem.
Swift SwiftUI MusicKit
Pick a week, any week since 1958, and Casey rebuilds that Billboard Hot 100 as a playlist in your Apple Music library. It is a native macOS app in SwiftUI on MusicKit, named for the man who counted the hits down.
The interesting engineering has been in the gap between Apple’s documentation and Apple’s behavior: MusicKit’s library APIs are iOS-first with rough macOS edges, rate limiting surfaces as false no-match results rather than errors, and App ID token changes propagate on their own schedule. The project changelog records each of those as it was diagnosed.
Early stage, under the Oneonelogic banner, and the current focus among my side projects.
